Certification Planning
Career and Technology Education teachers may be certified to teach in Maryland Public Schools based on their previous experiences, whether college degree(s) or work experiences.
Generally, teachers of Agriculture, Business Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Technology Education will come under the General Secondary Content Areas (Grades 7-12) requirements.
Career and Technology Education teachers in Professional and Technical Education (formerly Trades and Industry), have four different options available to them.
