During the City Builders activity, younger visitors learn about the neighborhood around the Museum of Industry and how it has changed over the past century. A museum educator provides a simple map of what the area around the museum looked like in 1896. Students help the educator develop the map by coloring, cutting, and folding paper models of turn-of the century buildings. At the end of the activity, the students get to bring their paper buildings home.
